Another Filipina is yet to conquer a world title and she is Joy Marie Gangan
A girl with humble beginnings. She came from Isabela, a province found in the northern part of the Philippines. A student and a farmer girl, this girl was just walking in the hallways of her school when someone tapped her and invited her. She then underwent training by the hands of Top Fashion and Ramp Model and reigning Mrs. Universe Philippines Ms. Joy Castillo Pasidis and her mentor discoverer, fashion designer Mitch Membrere and pageant expert Francis Calubaquib.
In a local radio program at DZMM, she was asked what is something in her that will make her the winner in the upcoming contest. She answers that it is her being a full blooded Filipina that will make her shine in the contest.
When asked what her plans are if she wins the title, she says that she would want to pursue a modeling career and to continue her studies. Show Business is not her option yet.
A humble beginning and a 22-inch waistline ala Venus Raj, will she be a hit? I say yes!
God bless girl. Your humility and determination is already the mark of a winner. You had gained my admiration. Your triumph is Philippines triumph!
