Philippines journey to the 2nd Miss Earth crown

Philippines is one of the top performing countries in Miss Earth, 12 placements with 2 crowns in 2008 and 2014.

Karla Henry, Miss Earth 2008

From 2001 to 2005, Miss Philippines representative made it to the Semifinalist circle. In 2006, Catherine Untalan won Miss Earth Water. In 2007, Philippines failed to make the cut, but a year after, Karla Henry won its sweet first Miss Earth crown for the Philippines.

Sandra Seiffert competed in 2009. She is one of the best delegates but sadly, her win will not be favorable. She ended up as Miss Earth-Air and Brazil won the crown.

Kris Resus competed in 2010. The pageant was held in Vietnam. She has a very nice swimsuit body but she is not just that competitive. She didn’t make the first cut and the hometown girl Miss Vietnam landed instead. India wins its first Miss Earth crown

Athena Imperial competed in 2011. To the dismay of others, she made the Top 16 and went straight to the Final 4 winning Miss Earth Water. I prefer Mexico than her but nonetheless she fought hard for that placement. Ecuador wins its first Miss Earth crown and second Big 4 title after Fernanda Cornejo winning Miss Intenational 2011

Stefany Stefanowitz competed in 2012. Everyone thought that maybe, she could win the 2nd crown. She is pretty but to everyone’s surprise, she gained weight. A very bad mistake honestly and I hope it wont happen again. At least she lost a few pounds and ended up as Miss Earth Air

Angelee delos Reyers competed in 2013. Everyone also thought that she might be the 2nd girl after Karla. She really expressed her intentions to do her very best to win the crown. It was visible throughout the pageant. Sadly, she ended only as a Top 8 Finalist. Thailand and Korea are really stunning that night. Austria is one sweet lovely lady and Venezuela is in her best fighting form which sealed her victory

After five years, the beautiful Jamie Herell wins the second crown. She made a very good performance in both Swimsuit and Evening Gown segments and she gave the best answer that night. She deserves her victory.

The third crown next year will not be that favorable but hopefully, the next Miss Philippines will do her best to at least land in Top 16.

Miss Philippines in Miss Earth

Born in 2001, Miss Earth is a pageant that promotes environmental awareness throughout the world. The Philippines is the top performing country in this pageant, with 13 placements: 3 winners, 4 runners up and 6 semifinalist. The Philippines missed the cut in 2007 and 2010.

Miss Philippines Earth is the pageant that selects the representative for Miss Earth Pageant. The current titleholder is Angelia Ong who made history when she won the crown, making a back to back victory for the Philippines.

Miss Earth Triva

Miss Earth is close to my heart. Still, I love all the Big 4 Pageants so dont get me wrong. Honestly, this is difficult to do in Miss Universe (and the other ) because of their long stay in the pageant. I will try in the future.

Both ladies are gorgeous, I know, but that is not something I want to compare about. Look at their National Costumes!

I find it frustrating that every time in Miss Universe, Philippines has to settle for a terno or a Maria Clara. Dont get me wrong. These dresses are elegant but please, I am so tired. and to be honest, Ara’s costume is something I want to forget and I am not surprised why people don’t like it.

Angelee in her sarimanok inspired costume. When I first saw it, i was really amazed, thus I had written this entry. Wow, wow and wow. And she really look feisty sexy in her outfit. I am so thrilled to see that her costume was one of the best I have ever seen.

I am impressed with how Miss Philippines Earth is grooming our candidates and don’t you admire the National costumes they create? From our Muslim fellowmen to ethnic tribes, MPE has really amazing and creative minds. When will that local pageant concerned follow?
